Wednesday Singles League
There are four divisions based on averages. Your division is set after the first ten rounds you play. Before that you may move up or down a division. The first round on each course is used to start your average. Then you will be awarded points based how well you do against your average, relative to others in your division.
Points are calculated starting the 3rd week. 10 points for 1st place, 9 for 2nd, 8 for 3rd, down to 2 points for 9th. Everyone receives at least 1 point for each week they play. Only the 5 best point totals from each course are used. There are 22 weeks of league, so you may miss many weeks of league and still do well.
Play at least 5 rounds on each course to qualify for awards!
How Points Are Calculated
- Calculate the new course average and the average for both courses.
- Calculate the "Weekly Variance". The variance is the number of strokes above or below the players course average that week..
- Determine the players division using the average from both courses. During the first 10 rounds a player may move up or down a division.
- Calculate weekly points for each division. The player with the lowest variance receives 10 points, the next lowest gets 9, down to 1 point. Everyone gets at least 1 point per round played.
- Calculate total points. Total the 5 highest point rounds from the Original and Monster courses.
League Rules
Alternate playing the Monster and the Original course each week if you can.
